Pitkin County is one of the 64 counties in the U.S. state of Colorado. Pitkin County has the fourth highest per-capita income of any county in the United States. Pitkin County is included in the Glenwood Springs, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Edwards-Glenwood Springs, CO Combined Statistical Area. ==Geography== According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.3%) is water. The high point of the county is Castle Peak, a fourteener with a height of 14,265 feet. It is located 20 miles south of Aspen on the Gunnison County border.
